Create your course summary

I know you may be an educator, so when I say create your course outline, understand that it could be the outline or the structure of your class.

If you are an expert, it may be very easy, but not for me and I think that for people who are not in the educational field it tends to be more complex.

But nothing in this life is impossible, once you overcome the motivational barrier of “I’m going to do this.”

How do I do it?

See, for me it all starts with the structure, the modules/chapters and their branches. Even to control what needs to be updated in the future.

But after I create the structure, I create a document. Each course that I create actually becomes a book on the same subject before it becomes a course, which I usually turn into an e-book later.

This makes the process easier for me, but remember that there are many things that only make sense in written form, and others that we should amplify with multimedia resources in distance learning classes, with the aim of taking full advantage of the media.

Use all the resources that are necessary.

If you are preparing a class

For me, it’s easier to format a class as if it were a post on my blog, like the one you’re reading here, which should or could have a simplified structure:

Title;
Caption;
Introduction: 2 – 4 minutes, you introduce yourself and talk about what you are going to teach and explain;
Middle or development: where you will actually teach the subject(s), taking care to separate it into modules/sections if necessary;
Practical activities: it is always good to link what was given to an activity, an exercise provided by you, at a third party location, to a video or something that helps reinforce the message;
Reference materials: everything that can help the student to have more references on the subject for consultation or further study;
Conclusion: where you close everything, consolidate what was taught and request a task for later delivery or even ask students to fill out an assessment at that moment.
Understand that in distance learning the educator is constantly evaluated, all the time, this actually gives us very important feedback for possible adjustments and improvements.

As an educator, I understand that constructive criticism is fundamental.

There is no standard structure

The process of creating the summary is closely linked to the structure of what will be taught.

This structure is built as the subject to be taught develops.

Many educators already have lesson templates, their own teaching method, this makes things easier, I encourage you to use your method to do this, it will help to refine and improve the process.

If you think you have an infallible method for creating your db to data class, your course, then I’m sorry to say you’re obsolete!

Even more so at this time, no one is prepared and no method is infallible or permanent, take advantage of the fact that you are an educator and activate the permanent evolution mode, only then will we improve the quality of teaching.

Prefer different methods for each approach, reading books, blogs, forums and technical documentation, watching videos and courses from experts in the area of ​​interest, talking to experts, commenting and receiving timely feedback, all interfere, all the time.

I use my blog – this one – I’ve had a dozen blogs, to create measuring results in real time posts about the subjects I intend to keep myself updated on, and share the knowledge acquired, from my own ideas and from third parties that I humbly propose to compile and present a version of what I understand.

This allows me to systematically create content, podcasts, videos, which allow me to continue evolving and deepening my knowledge.

From time to time I feel comfortable creating

A course, not because I think I know a lot about a topic, because it is normal to discover that there are many people who know less than me doing the same thing, I am not being arrogant in any way in this comment, far from it.

But I think that educators – I’m talking about teachers – have much more facilities to do this than I actually do.

I think this is the time to take advantage and evolve. Train with book your list your students, your most captive and sincere audience possible. Improve your level in these uncertain times.

I am writing in a few words the brickbat I received. In fact, it was an expert who evaluated hundreds of courses.

I wanted to make my course and teach EVERYTHING I thought I knew about the subject. This made me early on about the focus, about my audience.

Who is the course or class for?
How long should the course or class be?
Can I add anything extra that makes sense?
Can I create a “framework” for my teaching method?
Am I making lessons short and easy to understand?

Do I request extracurricular activities appropriately?
Am I using only textual content or do I have additional videos, diagrams, drawings, images and links?
Can I gamify teaching?
Am I encouraging students to achieve better results?
Or am I treating this as a one-way street?
Am I giving them touchpoints to easily get in touch with me?
I know this seems like a lot of points, but you can pay attention and work to develop a good course or class.

Don’t wait too long for the best option, go ahead and do it right away.

And then?
Well, finally, I can only create a summary after I have all the content ready!

This is how I do it.

I took a step back and went back, replanned, cut out everything that was unnecessary and focused on the goal.

Teach the main things about how to have a Digital Agency, what would be the main points or what the person should take care of most, especially when starting out and how to do it.
