All managers know that when a collaborator. He puts his heart and soul into his work and will have the energy and excitement. As a consultant. Trainer, coach, but above all as an entrepreneur. When I have to choose a new collaborator. I try to give motivation a higher value than all the other skills expressed by the candidate.
My experience leads me to say that there is no organization (even the smallest) that, at least in its intentions, does not pay attention to maintaining high motivation and satisfaction of its collaborators.
Yet according to a recent survey reported by SHRM ( Society for Human Resource Management ) it seems that about 30% of workers are demotivated and of these, 6% are hostile, while a further 20% of the whatsapp number list population is “dissatisfied”. These data seem surprising to say the least. How can a company achieve its goals if 50% of workers are demotivated. OR But rather the combination of the two factors.
Let’s try to understand better by immediately specifying that Motivation and Satisfaction are not the same thing and above all they play a different role.
It is not a play on words.Because motivation is the energy and enthusiasm that pushes us to act to satisfy a need. (motivation is before performance), satisfaction is the sense of fulfillment for the performance provided. (satisfaction is after performance).
We can therefore imagine dividing the universe of collaborators into 4 areas:
- Motivated and satisfied employees. So-called “ happy” and performing . We have little to say about these people except keeping the level of challenge high and putting them in a position to be able to “win” and provide the right satisfaction for their performance.
- Motivated but unsatisfied employees , so-called “ restless” even though they perform , essentially employees happy with their work but dissatisfied with the company that, from their point of view, does not put digital marketing dealerships sp them in a position to express their full potential, or even employees who would like bigger challenges. They are people who, if we do not recover them quickly. Could change companies or lose motivation. Lower their performance or even become “ burnouts” .
- Unmotivated but satisfied employees : they are also called “sit-down” employees : they can be very dangerous for the success of the company. They are people who are satisfied with their office. With the cmo email list benefits they have obtained. They are happy with their paycheck. With their working hours. Strictly from nine to six. They are those people who do the bare minimum because life is elsewhere. They are people who look at innovation with suspicion. Indeed they hinder or slow down any form of proposed change, Because it would require an effort that they are not willing to make.
- So-called burnouts : collaborators who have exhausted their supply of motivation and satisfaction. Zero energy. Be careful because these people can become “ hostile ” .
